Car Insurance Comparison
Many people will have been subject to increases to their car insurance over recent years; this is because over the last five years insurers have seen a surge in the number of claims and in 2003 claims soared to over £8 billion.

Climbing prices have prompted the launch of websites offering online car insurance comparison tools that compare offers according the criteria you set, they are also described as ‘car insurance calculators’ in many instances.

Before utilising any car insurance comparison tables or tools you should be aware that there are three types of car insurance. To ensure you are comparing like for like, they are:
- Third Party - Covering claims made by third parties for bodily injury and damage to their car only; it doesn’t cover your vehicle, or your injuries.
- Third Party Fire & Theft – Offers the same protection as above, but provides additional cover if your car is stolen or damaged by fire.
- Comprehensive Insurance – Covers all of the above, plus accidental damage to your car.
The car insurance comparison tool will find the best deal for you, according to your requirements, and be specific to your geographic location; to produce comparison results most will require that you fill in your insurance needs, and some personal details – it then searches a large database to find the best deals.
